How to Create Knowledge Base Articles in BrandChamp
With the BrandChamp Knowledge Base feature, you can create articles in the ambassador portal that provide helpful information about your program.
By utilizing the Knowledge base feature, you can give your ambassadors all the information they need to thrive in your program.
Potential Use Cases for the Knowledge Base
The Knowledge Base features can be utilized for a variety of purposes:
- Create a Getting Started article that outlines your program and how to earn points, rewards, and make referral sales
- Provide content briefs outlining the type of content you are looking for from your ambassadors
- Outline your tier system and explain how ambassadors can move through each tier
- Create private guides for collections and products or for new products that are coming soon to help build interest
- Add your privacy policy and terms and conditions so that it is always handy for ambassadors
Let’s set up your first article!
Step 1: Navigate to the Knowledge Base
To find the Knowledge Base feature in BrandChamp, click Settings > Knowledge Base. You can see all of the articles you have created on this page.
Click the “Add Article” button to create a new article.
Step Two: Create Your Article
Now, you can start to create your first article in BrandChamp.
At the top of the page, you can add a title to your article and find the shareable permalink. As you create the article, you can preview it on the right-hand side.
You can add a variety of media to your article, such as images and videos. You can also link to any relevant content you want to share in the article.
Once you are happy with the content, tick the “Publish” button to publish the article in the ambassador portal.
Where Are the Articles in the Ambassador Portal?
The ambassadors can find your knowledge base articles by hitting the drop-down menu and selecting the article's title.
In the image below, we created a Getting Started article outlining the program, a welcome article that welcomes BrandChamps to our program, and an article outlining our tier program.
The Getting Started article will be the first option on the drop-down menu and get a special icon, while any additional articles created will be at the bottom of the menu, displayed in the order created.
Step Three: Edit the Getting Started Article and Publish
When you navigate to the Knowledge Base tab, you will see an article entitled “Getting Started” set as a draft.
The BrandChamp team created this template that outlines how BrandChamp and the ambassador program work.
You can use any of the content in the draft and edit it to your liking!
If you use our Getting Started article template and publish the article, it will be the first page new ambassadors see when they access their account for the first time. You can only have one Getting Started article.
The rest of the knowledge base articles you create will be marked as “Custom.”
How to Customize Article Content by Tag
One additional feature of the Knowledge Base is that you can create variations of your articles based on tags.
For example, if we wanted to use the Getting Started article but wanted to change the copy to be specific to different tags in our program, we could create a new template for this article to add relevant content for those tags.
By customizing the article content by tags, you can give relevant information to each tag in your program.
This is helpful for brands running different programs in BrandChamp, such as having different tiers with different program requirements.
If you want to customize the Getting Started article by tags, scroll down to the Targeting section and select “Choose content based on Brandchamp’s tag.” Then, select the tags you want to create a new template for, as seen below.
Once you define the tags you want to create templates for, click the “Add Template” button to create the template with the new content.
Lastly, you can map the appropriate template to the corresponding tag.
Once you hit “Publish," each BrandChamp will see the template that matches the tag they have been assigned.
In the example above, a BrandChamp with a “Pro-Athlete” tag will see the “Pro Athlete Getting Started Template,” while everyone else will see the “Default Template.”
