Using Activity Categories

Activity Categories allow admins to organize activities into custom groups and provide ambassadors with quick filters on the Available Activities page.

Categories can be fully customized based on your program structure and can be reused across multiple activities.

Examples include:

  • Social Media
  • TikTok
  • Reviews
  • Referrals
  • Product Launches
  • VIP Activities
  • etc.

How Activity Categories Work

Each activity can have:

  • One category
  • Multiple categories
  • No category assigned

When categories are assigned, ambassadors will see those categories as filters above their activity list.

Selecting a category filter will display only the matching activities.


Creating and Assigning Activity Categories

  1. Open an Activity or Create a new Activity
  2. In the General tab, scroll to the bottom and locate the Activity Categories field.
  3. Type a new category name to create it, or select an existing category
  4. Add one or multiple categories to the activity
  5. Save the activity

Ambassador Experience

Ambassadors will see category filters displayed at the top of the Available Activities page.

This allows them to:

  • Quickly browse relevant activities
  • Navigate large activity lists more easily

For example:

  • Selecting “TikTok” will show only TikTok-related activities
  • Selecting “Social Media” will show activities assigned to that category


Best Practices

Keep category names simple - Use short, recognizable labels such as:

  • TikTok
  • Instagram
  • Reviews
  • Referral

Reuse categories consistently - Using standardized category names across activities creates a cleaner filtering experience for ambassadors.

Avoid too many categories - Too many filters can make navigation harder. Focus on your most important activity groupings.

Use multiple categories when needed - An activity can belong to more than one category. For example:

  • TikTok
  • Social Media

This allows ambassadors to discover the same activity through different filters.

Can I assign multiple categories to one activity?

Yes. Activities can have one, multiple, or no categories assigned.


Can categories be reused across activities?

Yes. Once a category is created, it can be selected and reused in any activity.


Where do ambassadors see Activity Categories?

Ambassadors see categories as filter tabs at the top of the Available Activities page.


Will categories appear if no activities use them?

No. Categories only appear as filters when at least one activity is assigned to them.


Can I create my own custom category names?

Yes. Categories are fully customizable and can match your program structure or campaign types.


Are Activity Categories visible anywhere else?

Currently, Activity Categories are only visible to ambassadors on the Available Activities page.


What happens if an activity has multiple categories?

The activity will appear under each matching category filter, making it easier for ambassadors to discover.


Can I edit or rename categories later?

No. Categories cannot currently be edited or renamed once created.

If you need to rename a category, you can:

  • Remove the existing category from all activities
  • Create a new category with the correct name

Once a category is no longer assigned to any activities, it will automatically no longer appear or be available for use.
