How to Bulk Update BrandChamp Tags via CSV Upload

You can now update BrandChamp tags in bulk by uploading a simple CSV file. This is especially useful when you want to tag users based on data from external systems (e.g., CRM, surveys, behavior exports) or maintain tag consistency across tools.


๐Ÿงญ Where to Find the Tag Import Option

  1. Go to the BrandChamps tab.
  2. Click on the Bulk Update button (top-right corner).
  3. Select Update Tags from the dropdown menu.


๐Ÿ“ค Upload Your CSV File

In the modal that opens:

  • Youโ€™ll see instructions for formatting and an option to download a sample CSV file.
  • Drag and drop your CSV file or click to browse and upload.

โœ… CSV Format Requirements

Your file should have two columns:

  • Email โ€“ to identify the BrandChamp (must match existing users)
  • Tags โ€“ a comma-separated list of tags for that user

Example:

john@example.com vip, gold
alice@example.com community, tier-2

Note:

  • Tags are automatically converted to lowercase.
  • Spaces and special characters are replaced with hyphens (e.g., My Tag! โ†’ my-tag ).

๐Ÿ‘ Preview & Confirm Updates

After uploading, youโ€™ll see a preview of the changes before anything is applied.

You must select an Update Mode:

  • Add โ€“ Adds the new tags alongside existing ones.
  • Remove โ€“ Removes the listed tags from users (if present).
  • Replace โ€“ Completely replaces all existing tags with the ones in the file.

Click Update to apply changes.


๐Ÿงพ What Happens After Upload?

  • The system will validate that each email exists.
  • If there are errors (e.g., unmatched users), youโ€™ll be notified before continuing.
  • A success message will confirm the tag updates.

  • Use this feature to sync tags from a CRM, email platform, or segmentation tool.
  • You can combine this with filters and bulk update actions in the UI for full control.

Only users with Admin access can use the Tag Import feature.
